Living in a Victorian townhouse with a small courtyard garden has inspired me to find alternative ways of decorating my outdoor space. Like Mary Mary in the nursery rhyme my garden is filled with colour, not just from plants, but also from other objects filling my walls and covering the ground.
It started with a mosaic mirror to reflect the light, then I added a mosaic table and chairs to give interest and colour while providing a useful function. Since then I have made wall panels with broken china, mirror, slate, glass and quartered glass tiles and added terracotta pots decorated with old china. Interspersed with beautiful planting these mosaics add all year round colour and depth to the garden. I particularly love recycling broken china with interesting patterns and transforming it into something new and beautiful.
